A partial is not a full denture and it is not a bridge

A partial replaces one or several missing teeth and uses the teeth you still have. It comes out.

A full denture replaces a whole arch. A bridge stays in. An implant overdenture is a different plan.

Types people mix up

  • Acrylic — easier to add a tooth later if another fails.
  • Cast-metal frame — thinner; clasps on remaining teeth.
  • Flexible — no-metal look; not every case.
  • Implant-anchored overdenture — only with bone + implant plan (see snap-on vs fixed).

Typical path: consult → impressions → try-in → delivery over a few days. Do not book a same-day promise on a complex case.

Ask in consult

  • Partial, bridge, or single implant — which, and why?
  • Material and clasps — acrylic, metal, flexible?
  • How many visits, and who adjusts you from Arizona or California?
  • If another tooth fails, add to this partial or start over?
